Hello everyone,
My name is Jesus Ochoa, I am in the process of getting ready to begin my third year as a Lakeside teacher. This year I will be teaching first grade for the first time after having taught kindergarten for the past two years. I will be teaching completely in Spanish to students that are native English speakers. I enjoy teaching Spanish to both non-native speakers and native speakers as there are vastly different activities that one can do with both groups.
I earned my B.A. from UCSD (go Tritons) and after a year off from school I then went on to earn my BCLAD Single Subject credential in Spanish as SDSU (go Aztecs). After trying for months to find work unsuccessfully, I decided to obtain authorizations to teach Social Science and Math as well as obtaining my Multiple Subject credential.
A couple of interesting and ironic facts about me:
-I enjoy working with technology, I can build computers, figure out new software relatively fast, and use computers/tablets/smartphone to accomplish most of my day to day tasks. Irony: I only take notes with pen and paper and only read dead tree books.
-I enjoy roller coasters, I have bungee jumped and hope to one day skydive. Irony: I am deathly afraid of heights.
